Everyone Has a Piece of Pie

I’ve been using this analogy a lot lately; we’re all going to a huge party to which we’re asked to bring a piece of our favorite pie. And here’s the thing - there is no competition! It’s a celebration of pie! (hungry yet?) Everyone’s piece of the pie is amazing! Every piece is unique, delicious, special and wonderful to at least one other person at the party. Without every single piece of pie present, this party would not be the same. It wouldn’t be as light-hearted or cozy or welcoming as it was intended to be.

And here comes the really fun part.  There are some pieces of pie that I don’t like! And you aren’t fond of some of the ones I like.

That’s awesome! Because now we have something to talk about.

I can ask anyone about any piece of pie why they made that pie, how it was made, what was the inspiration behind it. I can see, for example, that you are proud of the pie you made - whether I like it or not. You’re excited to share it. Most importantly, I can see that the pie you made, made you HAPPY. And truly, that’s what we’re here to do in this lifetime, create our own pie for our own reason, for our own happiness. And if we share it with others - ooooo weeeeee baby - there’s magic there. Can you feel it?

The animal communication community I’m a part of has monthly practice sessions where students who are working on their certifications due live readings in front of a Zoom audience. Recently, I was following along with one student intuitively (meaning I was I tuning into the animal and their human alongside the animal communicator doing the reading) and I was receiving similar info as he was. And then, my fellow communicator went down a line of questioning with the animal that I would have phrased differently. And as he continued down this line, I was waiting for our teacher to stop him. She never did. In fact, she kept supporting what he was doing and encouraging him to continue. As the student reached the end of the reading, I realized we had reached the same conclusion - just in completely different ways. What’s more, the human client responded so well to this different pursuit of information, I realized - it was suppose to be that way. Had it been me doing the reading, she may not have resonated with my style as she did my peer’s.

This student’s piece of pie was exactly what was needed. Had our teacher stopped him, I could have walked away thinking that all readings - all pieces of pie - should be the same. How silly - how boring - is that? It would certainly put a damper on this exciting intuitive work that I do!

I am inspired by this analogy. And I’ve started to apply it to everything I encounter.  I’m seeing that there is an infinite amount of pie types, flavors and styles all over the world. And while I’m sampling all the pie, I’m also playing with the ingredients for my own offering.

So, I have a feeling you’ll be hearing about this pie analogy more in the coming months. I’ve been studying A Course in Miracles as well as Mysticism starting with the teachings of Hildegard von Bingen. My mentor and I connected to the Elementals and talked with our grandmothers. In pie-terms, I’m trying some new recipes and finding what makes me happy.

And that, is what pie is all about - HAPPINESS.

I want to know - from all of you - WHAT’S IN YOUR PIE? Let me know!
