How to Juggle Autumn: Collaborate with Your Animals!

Fall isn’t officially here for a few weeks yet and already, I can feel the change. The birds and butterflies have started migrating, the plants are browning down and Lukas is shedding like crazy, getting ready for his winter coat. Not to mention the unexpected passing of a dear friend, the Queen’s transition and Mercury going retrograde - I feel like I’m juggling fire. How about you?

Here are three things the animals tell me we can do right now to help ease this “heat” we’re experiencing as the seasons transition:

1) Allow the animals to help you be present and re-ground yourself. This will also help you slow down and take a much needed beat. Watch for “pet me now” behavior or even having you accidentally stepping on their paw. This is their way to have you pause and, in focusing on them, it brings you to the “now.”

2) Collaborate with them to help alert you when you’re working too hard. We tend to focus on others - including those at work - before we take care of ourselves. Watch your animals for the signs they are giving you that you are focused on something other than yourself. They may start pawing at your leg or messing your hair. Make note of your focus in that moment and find a way to step out of it, even if for a minute, and take a deep cleansing breath.

3) Ask them to assist you in getting out of your head with your negative thoughts and stories about yourself that no longer serve you. I recently heard Bishop T.D. Jakes say “Divorce yourself from your story.” Your animal (and The Guides!) want you to believe that you have POWER and now is the time to step into it. You can request that they, for example, put their head in your lap when you’re in your head. Whatever type of behavior will help you - ask them for it.

Let me know how these collaborations with your pet go - what behavior did they do and how did it help you?

I may not look as awesome and graceful as this guy, but I sure so feel like I’m juggling stick o’ fire lately! Can you relate?
