Follow the Yellow-Brick Road

I started working with Sarah, almost a year ago when she first thought that her beloved dog, Seth, was getting ready to pass. Sometimes, it can take a while for an animal to pass. The process can be a slow, beginning subtly. Not all humans notice this slight shift, but Sarah did. While Seth was an older dog, he was still her most important friend and to lose him was going to be devastating.  Sarah wanted to make sure she was doing right by Seth at every turn - and so began our sessions.

Little did we know, that in working together, we’d uncover what her dog had  been teaching her all along. And, he was going to take his time to complete the lesson and make sure she was solidly on her path.

As the sessions went on throughout the year, we discovered that Sarah was pursuing her dream of being an energy healer. In fact, Sarah had been studying different modalities for a while but was hesitant to get out into the marketplace. Seth knew she needed to do this work and would give her little tests to trust herself by presenting different symptoms so that Sarah could find a new way to help him. Or his “issue” would cause Sarah to find an additional helper who could spread the word about her talents.

When I shared these insights from Seth with Sarah, she was initially floored, feeling in awe that he would go to these lengths to help her.  However, the more she explored their connection, she actually discovered they were together in past lives!

This past life revelation illuminated our last session with Seth on this side of the rainbow bridge.  During that reading, after reassuring her it was time for him to go, he showed me a yellow brick road. He started to sing “follow the yellow brick road” in the Lollipop gang’s voice which made both Sarah and I laugh. He then said, “I helped you get on the road and I’ll continue to help after I’m gone,” at which point, he began singing “Ease on Down the Road” from The Wiz. This made Sarah laugh even harder because The Wizard of Oz is her favorite movie!

The last image he gave us was of Sarah, on a swing flying as high as it would go, with a lovely dress flowing all around behind her. It was actually the first image he shared with me in our very first connection, explaining then and repeating now, “she will soar to great heights with her work.”

I then felt a strong sense of peace settle over me. I shared that with Sarah and she said she, too, felt it. Seth was sleeping peacefully at her side. I then heard him say, “end of a chapter” and we disconnected.

While the loss of Seth has been very sad for Sarah, our work together gave her lots of love, inspiration and the knowledge that he is still with her, a gift to keep her on that yellow brick road.
